Salah Issues Regret to Squad, Says Curtis Jones
Jones has revealed that Mohamed Salah expressed regret to the entire Liverpool squad after the fallout from his recent interview.
The Incident
Salah was left out from a European match subsequent to making accusations and claiming his relationship with manager had deteriorated.
“Salah is an individual and he can say his own stuff,” Jones revealed. “His apology was clear and was like: ‘If I’ve affected anybody, I apologise.’”
Arne Slot has refused to reveal on whether he got an explanation from the 33-year-old forward.
Team Unity
The player stated that the team's response remained positive. “Nothing about him changed, he had a big smile on his face and we all treated him normally,” he continued.
Jones also implied that a player's desire to start is less of an issue. “I understand there are specific approaches you can express yourself,” he said. “But if a lad’s fine to just be on the bench, then I think that’s concerning.”
Positive Results
The team's performance have remained strong in the matches since the interview fallout. The player is convinced the Salah's words were not designed to cause disruption.
“If passion has boiled over, it’s always been from a good place,” the midfielder stated. “We’re past that now and we’re uniting strongly, performing and on a positive run.”
