Renowned Star The actor Pat Finn, Known For Parts in The Middle and Friends, Has Died at Age 60.
Stateside performer Pat Finn, who appeared in iconic TV shows like Friends, Seinfeld and "The Middle", has succumbed at 60 years old.
The skilled improv artist succumbed at his home in LA on Monday following cancer treatment beginning in 2022, as reported by media reports.
"Pat saw everyone as a friend - solely future friends he had yet to meet," his relatives shared in a announcement.
They added that he had "lived his life fully - with zest and passion".
An Extensive TV Career
His initial on-screen part was on a show starring George Wendt in 1995, where he played the brother of the main character.
He subsequently landed a repeating character on Murphy Brown from 1995 to 1997.
He appeared as a party host named Joe Mayo in Seinfeld in 1998, portraying a social organizer who would assign burdensome jobs to his guests.
Throughout the late 1990s and early 2000s, he had guest spots on numerous popular shows, such as:
- King of Queens
- Friends
- That '70s Show
- "House"
He was most recognized for portraying Bill Norwood in The Middle, appearing throughout eight series between 2011 and 2018.
His work in movies include It's Complicated (2009) and "Santa Paws 2".
A Life in Improv
Away from his television work, Finn was deeply involved in improvisational comedy and also taught at the University of Colorado, where he was an adjunct professor.
He was involved with a six-person improv troupe known as Beer Shark Mice.
"Finn guided, supported, and advised numerous pupils over the years and it's nearly impossible to find a person who has an unkind word to say about him," his family wrote.
Offering condolences, colleague and actor Richard Kind remarked there was "no kinder, gentler, funnier, authentic human being you could encounter".
"Perpetually optimistic, making those around him better and funnier. A wonderful father and man," he posted online.
Pat Finn is survived by his partner Donna, his children, and his parents and siblings.
