Hulu is Developing a Far Cry TV Show from the Producers of Alien: Earth and It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia.
The newest action-packed game that audiences explored was Far Cry 6, that showcased Giancarlo Esposito as the antagonist, Antón, and debuted during October 6, 2021. In the game universe, it has a reputation for delighting in chaos and mayhem with the same enthusiasm, all while weaving engaging, socially charged stories. Little surprise that FX's decision for a Far Cry limited-run show pulled in two creators whose work have exemplified all of those qualities.
Show Details
Based on Ubisoft's popular video game franchise, the self-contained anthology series will be available on Hulu and will be created by FX Productions. The series will also follow the video games' style by featuring a new location and cast of characters in every instalment.
Creative Minds
Rob Mac, creator of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, and Noah Hawley, the visionary behind FX's Alien: Earth and Fargo, will work as executive producers on the series through their labels, More Better Productions for Mac, and 26 Keys for Hawley. They will be joined by Emilia Serrano for 26 Keys, Nick Frenkel for 3 Arts, Jackie Cohn for More Better Productions, John Campisi, Gerard Guillemot, Margaret Boykin, and Austin Dill for Ubisoft Film & Television.
“FX has had excellent collaborations with Rob Mac and Noah Hawley for a collective six series and 32 seasons of television, and we are thrilled that they are teaming up for Far Cry,” said Nick Grad, President, FX Entertainment, in a news release. “I have no doubt that they will deliver this story in a way that is fresh, compelling, and wildly entertaining. We also want to thank our collaborators at Ubisoft for placing confidence in us with this beloved property.”
Upcoming Developments
Mac will also feature in the show, but at the time of writing, we are unsure of what character that could be. Hawley's Alien: Earth was recently greenlit for more episodes, with FX and Disney agreeing to a new long-term contract with the producer.
“Being able to collaborate together with Noah Hawley is a goal achieved,” remarked Rob Mac. “Ubisoft has been remarkably supportive, entrusting us with one of the most famous video-game realms ever created. And throughout this process, my FX family continues to lift me up with their steady confidence and backing.”
“What appeals to me about the Far Cry game franchise is that it’s an standalone show. Each game is a take of a idea, the same way every run of Fargo is a variation on a premise,” said Hawley. “To produce a epic action show that can change from one instalment to the next, while always exploring the essence of humanity through this intricate and unpredictable viewpoint, is a dream come true. I’m eager to collaborate with Rob and present our common irreverent, visionary style to the television.”
A time frame for when we can look forward to the new Far Cry show has remains undisclosed. The series will be available on Hulu in the United States and on Disney Plus globally.
