Chopper Twirls Uncontrollably into Palm Fronds at Well-Known California Shoreline
A helicopter hovering above a popular coastal beach suddenly commenced twirling out of control, finally descending rapidly and crashing into a cluster of palm groves as beachgoers watched.
Footage posted online show the aircraft beginning to twirl above the beach then descending in the direction of the edge of the coast, where it becomes wedged between palm trees and a staircase close to the Pacific Coast highway.
Emergency Response Information
Local firefighters stated five individuals were taken to hospital including a pair who were in the helicopter and were “rescued from the debris” after the incident on the weekend.
Three persons on the street were harmed. Information on their wounds were not immediately available.
The reason for the accident was not yet disclosed.

The department mentioned the chopper was linked to an yearly “Cars N Copters” benefit occasion scheduled for the following day.
